German born singer-songwriter, Jen Lockwood, grew up in sunny Brighton on the south coast of England. From a young age she was surrounded by music, growing up in a household where both her dad and older brother enjoyed playing songs by The Beatles and James Taylor.

At the age of thirteen, Jen learnt her first chords on guitar and soon after had written her first song. Inspiration came after seeing Beth Orton and Bonnie Raitt live at The Brighton Dome. Her other early musical influences include Tori Amos, Sheryl Crow and Tina Dico.

Jen’s first musical project was an all-girl acoustic trio called Scarlet Isle; three friends writing their own material and performing around various local venues in Brighton.

She later won a scholarship to attend music college in Brighton, before studying and training as a Children’s Nurse at Kings College London.

In 2017, Jen recorded and released her first EP ‘Hello I am Grace’ and performed abroad in Germany at The Gitarrentage Festival in Viernheim. In 2019, Jen supported The Lathums at The Lady Bay Festival in Nottingham. Jen has performed in various venues across the UK including The Concorde 2 in Brighton and The Bodega in Nottingham.
